State-of-the-Art Diagnostics

Proper treatment starts with proper diagnosis, that is why we utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic tools. This allows us to define the root of the problem and prepare customized treatment.

Home Visit Program

With loss of mobility, elderly patients find it difficult to keep regular doctor’s office visits and medical conditions are not monitored as closely as they should, which can lead to a trip to the ER. This is preventable by regular medical home visits.

Top Rated Medical Center in Skokie

Welcome to Oakton Park Medical Center. Since its inception, patient priority has been the key to our success. We treasure the relationships we build with our patients and always strive to provide the best services possible.

Our practice was started in 1996 by Dr. Edelstein, and was originally located 1925 Lincoln Avenue in Skokie. Dr. Sheynin joined the practice in 2002. In 2006 we moved to a larger office in Skokie, at 4555 Oakton Street, across from Oakton Park (see our Contact page). We named it the Oakton Park Medical Center to demonstrate our ties to our community as well as the complexity of our operation.

We added a podiatrist, Dr. Rager, physical therapy, and psychiatrist. Dr. Golber, and Dr. Goldberg have also joined our practice. We expanded our services to provide in-office Bone Densitometry, Spirometry, Electrocardiogram, Holter Monitor and Diagnostic Ultrasound.

In 2009 we added a Home Visits Program after seeing a growing need in our patient community. Alan Wilson, physician assistant, is in charge of the program. He will see patients at home if a severe disability prevents them from coming to their physician's office.

Our physicians, using electronic medical records, have 24-hour access to patients' charts. The Patient Portal (also available at the top left corner of your screen) allows patients to review their personal test results, streamlines electronic communications with the office including refill requests, change of address, phone number notices as well as reporting new conditions and reviewing personal health alerts. We can send you e-mail reminders of your appointments and test results.

Our physicians are on staff at Skokie Hospital, now part of NorthShore University HealthSystem, as well as Saint Francis Hospital and Swedish Covenant Hospital. You will find our staff polite, attentive and professional - a combination that has become our philosophy and trademark.
